Terry Wygal
Terry Wygal's career in firefighting began shortly after 9/11 when he joined what was then known as the Atascocita Volunteer Fire Department. Throughout his journey, he has earned an impressive array of qualifications, including being a TCFP certified Master Structure Firefighter, Instructor III-Master, Fire Officer IV, Master Fire Investigator, Master Fire Inspector, Hazardous Materials Incident Commander, Driver Operator – Pumper and Aerial, Incident Safety Officer, Fire and Life Safety Educator II, Incident Commander, and Plan Examiner I. He is also certified by Pro-Board in Confined Space Rescue Level 1 & 2 and Trench Rescue Level 1 & 2.
Wygal's dedication to his community is unwavering, and he takes great pride in serving his fellow citizens. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Fire Administration from Texas A&M San Antonio, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a perfect 4.0 GPA. He also completed the Fire Service Chief Executive Officer program at Texas A&M TEEX Mays Business School and the Texas Fire Chiefs Academy from the Texas Fire Chiefs Association. Currently, he is pursuing his Masters in Public Administration, a testament to his commitment to ongoing learning and improvement.
Wygal's journey from volunteer firefighter to career firefighter and ultimately Assistant Chief of Fire at the Atascocita Fire Department is a reflection of his dedication to his fellow coworkers and community. His commitment to teamwork is an ongoing inspiration to those around him to always do their best and work towards a common goal.
