Community Education
The Atascocita Fire Department (AFD) can help you save a life by teaching you CPR and first aid. AFD CPR classes are American Heart Association (AHA) approved and gives you a certification card good for 2 year.
AVFD currently offers the following two CPR classes:

BLS Provider CPR (Formally Healthcare Provider)- American Heart Association (AHA) approved coarse specific for healthcare workers or healthcare students such as Doctors, Dentists, Nurses, Paramedics, EMT's, Certified Nursing Assistants, LifeGaurds, and other healthcare professionals. This training is tailored to a bit more detailed assessment and using equipment you would find in hospital or dental offices, such as the Bag Valve Mask. A written and skills test is mandatory and carries a 2 year certification period.

Heartsaver First Aid/CPR/AED- American Heart Association (AHA) approved coarse specific for daycare providers, construction/office workers, educators, coaches, and other lay rescuers. This course teaches CPR, first aid, and uses equipment you would find in a public setting (such as an AED). This course does carry a 2 year certification.
