David Roark
Atascocita Fire Department Battalion Chief David Roark's career in the fire service is marked by a commitment to continuous personal and professional growth. Graduating from Baylor University in 2011 with a master's degree, David made a pivotal decision to join the Cypress Creek Fire Department. Starting as a volunteer, he worked his way up the ladder, obtaining certifications such as SFFMA Officer 1 and Instructor 1. David's dedication was further evident in 2013 when he completed the Cypress Creek EMS's EMT-B program, graduating second in his class. Following this, he challenged the State Commission test and earned his TCFP Firefighter Basic certification.
In 2017, David transitioned to the Atascocita Fire Department, securing a full-time position as a Lieutenant at Station 29. Over the years, he achieved Fire Officer IV, Fire Instructor III, and other notable certifications. David's impact expanded beyond the department as he became a Blue Card Incident Command instructor, sharing his expertise in classes across the state. Promoted to one of the inaugural full-time Battalion Chief positions in 2019, David continued his professional development, earning certifications, completing leadership training, and graduating from the Texas Fire Chief's Academy.
Away from the firehouse, David is supported by his wife and two vibrant daughters. David's family plays a crucial role in keeping his life both grounded and dynamic. His ability to balance leadership, education, and hands-on firefighting reflects not only his passion for the fire/EMS service but also his commitment to being a well-rounded professional and family man.
