National Hurricane Center upgrades System to Tropical Storm Imelda - Flooding Still the Greatest Threat

Atascocita, June 17, 2019 - The National Hurricane Center has issued a Tropical Storm Warning from Sargent, TX in Matagorda County to Port Bolivar. The warning does not include Galveston Bay. The storm is curently making landfall over Eastern Brazoria County and Western Galveston County this afternoon. The current forecast from the National Hurricane Center shows the system crawling North-Northwest, directly over Houston. Flooding remains the greatest threat from this storm, however gusting wind can also be expected.
