Breakfast with the First Responders
Tuesday, July 30, 2019
Humble, TX. (July 30, 2019) – When the Atascocita United Methodist Church recently sought a contribution for a silent auction charity event, the Atascocita Fire Department stepped up by donating a family experience not soon forgotten.
Often, it’s hard to get kids out of be early on a Saturday morning, especially in the summertime, but when they hear their grandparents are taking them to have breakfast with the first responders followed by a private tour of the fire station, well, that’s another story!
As the winners of this prize at the Atascocita United Methodist Church’s silent auction, the Theiss family were invited to come sit down for breakfast with the Atascocita first responders, including the Chief of Department, Mike Mulligan and Battalion Chief Terry Wygal. The Theiss family this morning included the grandparents and four very excited young boys, ages 3-10 years old. After a real firehouse breakfast of bacon and eggs, the family were escorted on a personal tour throughout the fire station and on all the trucks.
Chief Mulligan commented, “Battalion Chief Wygal and his team did an amazing job of welcoming the family. They prepared them a true firehouse breakfast and showed them everything they wanted to see. The boys were in awe as were the grandparents. It was a great event.”
