Both! AVFD staffs MICU (paramedic) ambulances 24/7 with paid personnel, volunteer firefighters staff our duty crews from 6pm-6am during the week and all weekend. We have part time paid firefighters that staff our duty crews during weekdays from 6am-6pm, and as needed to ensure full staffing. Regardless of the time of day, or day of the week, AVFD has several apparatus staffed 24/7. Our duty crews are on duty at the station and ready to quickly respond to your emergencies. Additional resources rely on volunteers at home coming at a moments notice.
