New Station 1
Sunday, May 24, 2015

In 1978, the Atascocita Volunteer Fire Department (AVFD) finished construction on its first fire station, Fire Station #1, located at the corner of Farmingham Road and Walden Forest Drive.  The station was expanded several times over the years to accommodate the addition of Emergency Medical Services (Ambulances), the district's first aerial fire truck, the administrative staff offices, and overnight crew quarters.  The building has seen and been through a lot in its 36 years of service to the community.

In December of 2014, Station 1 was officially vacated and retired and will soon be replaced by a modern fire station facility with up to date technology and adequate room for expansion to help the department continue to provide excellent emergency response and public safety to the Atascocita area.
